Rick’s enchantment with chocolate is a life-long addiction. The earliest known record of this addiction is when Rick was little Rick and had to walk uphill, both ways, in the Niagra Falls, NY snow-covered hills to visit his grandma at Fanny Farmer’s Chocolate. Being a good grandma, she would always give little Rick chocolate samples. History says his addiction was kept fairly controlled during his next stint running great big printing presses. The chocolate itch began to come back. So Rick became a baker. He would treat himself to a special chocolate pastry now and again, but that just wasn’t enough.
Then, one day, Rick stopped by to visit best friend and head engineer Matt at TCHO. He was, in his own words, “drawn in by some unforeseeable force — and now can’t seem to find my way out!” That force was most likely the near infinite supply of the world’s best chocolate, and full support of his chocolate addiction. He can often be spotted cruising the Embarcadero on his Indian motorcycle or in his old Chevy pick up truck.
